Kielosaari is located in the middle of peaceful nature – but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to do!
In addition to the beautiful river landscapes of Pyhäjoki, you can easily take a trip to the seaside, explore local nature trails, or discover nearby places full of character.

The nearest seaside swimming spot is at Pyhäluoto beach, just a short drive away.
Take a refreshing dip in the sea and enjoy the open horizon – the perfect summer destination!

Where the river delta meets the sea, a unique ecosystem is formed.
Walk to the birdwatching towers, admire the sunsets by the river, or follow trails that lead you into the quiet of the forest.

Palosaari nature trail is a 2 km forest loop around a restored forest ranger’s cabin. Learn about different tree species, birds, and pick wild berries – an ideal day trip for families or friends in 2025.

Kielosaari’s own trail is a 600-meter path through protected riverside nature, leading to a birdwatching tower and a campfire spot – a perfect little moment of calm in nature.

Kielosaari is a fisherman’s dream.
You can fish right from the river mouth all the way out to sea – perch, pike, and larger catches are all possible.

Pyhäjoki has tennis courts and disc golf courses for active outdoor fun.

At the Rautiperä recreational area (near Pyhäjoki town center), there is an 18-hole disc golf course (Par 58) and a marked, illuminated fitness trail.

A relaxing seaside viewpoint with a small harbor nearby – perfect for a picnic or coffee break.

Admire the powerful flow of the Hourunkoski rapids, breathe in the fresh riverside air, and take a break at the piers.

The old Kaukonranta fishing harbor area, with its preserved boat sheds and net drying huts, tells the story of local fishing traditions – a mix of culture, scenery, and history.

Located in the town center of Pyhäjoki, Annala Museum is a cultural gem.
This 19th-century building has been preserved almost in its original state, offering a glimpse into life in Pyhäjoki’s past.
Small exhibitions and events are held here, especially in the summer. The peaceful yard, old objects, and historical atmosphere make Annala a great stop during an evening walk.

The Tuesday Market is a beloved summer event held in the town center every Tuesday from 5 pm to 7 pm (May 20 – August 26, 2025).
You’ll find local products, treats, music, and programs by local associations – a friendly meeting place for everyone.
